Our Reception Team aims to provide a warm, welcoming, caring atmosphere whenever or for whatever you may visit Pilgrim Vets for, this team consists of:
Michelle Marchant - Office Manager.
Michelle joined Pilgrim vets in March 1999 as a veterinary nurse and after she came back from maternity leave she became our Office Manager.
Michelle enjoys all aspect of her job especially keeping the computer system upto date and running smoothly.
Outside of work Michelle spends her time with her son Thomas, Indie the Silken Windhound, Oz a Basset Fauve de Bretagne and not forgetting Remy the one eyed cat who was found abandoned in a bucket on our doorstep.
Valerie Meeds


Valerie came to us in August 2001. She brings a wealth of compassion and kindness towards our clients and you will always find her smiling.
Valerie enjoys spending time with her husband, grandaughter and Billy the dog, along with weekends away in their caravan.
Jo Douglas

Jo joined the team in June 2005 and like all our other staff has become an invaluble, bubbly part of the group.
Jo has a particular interest in guinea pigs and if you ever call with a guinea pig query no doubt you will here the term "our guinea pig lady".
In her own time Jo walks for miles with her five Labradors; Buffy, Willow, Faith, Cordi & Jazz, as well as taking care of her guinea pig family and cats.
Shelley Dresner
Shelley has worked for us twice, originally joining us in 1999 and then when she moved back to the area in 2008.
Shelley is always happy to advise our clients about the "guarding" breeds of dogs as she has owned Rottweilers and German Shepherds for years, and again, like all members of staff has the odd waif & stray from here including two three legged cats.
Kerry Kelly

Kerry joined us in December 2006 and very quickly became a great member of the team.
She is a stickler for cleanliness and you will often find her with a duster in hand!
Kerry has two Jack Russells, Colin & Daphne and with Jo walks for miles at Frieston Shore, if not you will find her at various gigs.
Billie Rate

Billie came to Pilgrim Vets in 2009 as our full time receptionist.
As you can see by her photo Billie loves meeting our more exotic pets, she also manages to rehome a lot of injured or ill wildlife that are brought into us.
At home Billie has two Labradors, Jasper & Princess, Billie is often out & about with her dogs whether it be camping or on barge on the local rivers.
